Laying carpet tiles yourself saves you money
One of the biggest advantages of carpet tiles is that you can lay them yourself. There is no need for an expensive carpet installer, which will save you a lot of money. One of the requirements is a clean, even and solid subfloor. In a room of up to 30 m2, you can even lay the tiles separately. Make sure that the tiles fit tightly together so that they do not slip.
However, we recommend that you secure the tiles with at least double-sided carpet tape. You can also lay the tiles only at the edges of the room and the tiles at the workplace. An office chair can cause the carpet tiles to slip.
Sound-absorbing and energy-saving
Student carpet tilesCarpet tiles also provide better (sound) insulation of the room. For example, impact noise is quickly reduced by 24 dB. This is partly due to the insulating bitumen underlay. This feature is especially a great advantage if you live on the top floor. This way, your roommates worry less about you, and you worry less about them. Do you have a plank floor? Then it makes sense to use an underlay for carpet tiles. This provides a stable and additional sound-absorbing effect. This means that the floor creaks less and lets in less noise, allowing you to concentrate better on your studies.
Carpet tiles are not only good for your ears, but also for your wallet. They insulate your room, which reduces heating costs. In addition, carpeting is nice and warm on your feet even on cold winter days. A win-win!
